EastEnders spoilers: Ben Mitchell loses control as double murder rocks the Square?

Since the end of last year, fans have watched as Ben and Martin have locked horns and as 2020 begins, more residents could get caught in the crossfire.

It was actually Martin star James, 35, who pitched his character going up against the young gangster as soap boss Kate Oates told press, including Express.co.uk.

“One of the reasons we had this idea initially was we got together for a bit of a character chat, and James mentioned this thing — when it was Martin with a different head — how he dangled Ben over the railway bridge, and I hadn’t seen that so, like James was saying, him and Max were talking about it, and I just thought it was brilliant.

The actor added: “I’ve never had the opportunity to sit there and be open about ideas and Jon and Kate are so amazing at just letting us do that — and obviously not every idea we have is going to get taken up, but sometimes something happens like that.”

EastEnders continues Friday at 8pm on BBC One.
