Australia's PM heckled by distraught residents as wildfires rage 'We're totally forgotten'

Scott Morrison has been the leader of the Liberal Party and Prime Minister of Australia since August 2018. However, his leadership over the wildfire crisis in Australia has been criticised. During the visit to Cobargo, one of the areas of New South Wales most affected by the wildfires, residents did not hold back in their criticism of Mr Morrison.

The Prime Minister asked a woman “how are you?” as he went to shake her hand.

The woman replied: “I’m only shaking your hand if you give more funding to our RFS.

“So many people here have lost their homes.

“We need more help!”

Another resident shouted: “You won’t be getting any votes down here.

“You’re an idiot.

“Who votes Liberal around here?

“Nobody, no Liberal votes.

Residents were heard yelling “scum bag” as the Prime Minister left the area in a car.

The latest Australian wildfires are some of the worst the country has ever seen, with blazes in every state.

New South Wales has seen some of the worst activity, with more than 900 homes now destroyed by the oncoming flames.

Nationwide, a total of 17 people have died, and authorities are struggling to contain the flames even with foreign aid.
