Bank holidays 2020: How to get extra holiday this year – double your annual leave

There is a way for Britons to double the length of their holidays, if they are strategic. Being smart with the way Briton’s book their holidays can help them relax.

Workers should not be asked to wore more than 48 hours a week.

Employees have a statutory right to at least 5.6 weeks of paid annual leave or 28 days of paid holiday.

This can include any paid leave given on bank holidays.

Your employer is allowed to control when you take your holiday.

Employers are also allowed to insist you take paid holiday on bank holidays or that you are available to work on bank holiday.
