Nigella Lawson: ‘Everything is frightening’ celebrity chef makes surprise admission

Chef Nigella Lawson, 59, who rose to fame thanks to her bestselling cookbooks and Nigella Bites television series, said in a new interview that she attributes her success to being primarily “fear-driven”.

Speaking to OK! magazine she said: “I feel that people fall into two categories, goal-oriented or fear-driven.

“I’m fear-driven. So it’s the terror of filling the empty page, or the director saying, ‘Action!’ But everything is frightening, isn’t it?”

Elsewhere in the interview Nigella discusses the breakdown of her second marriage to Charles Saatchi, whom she was married between 2003 and 2013.

She admitted that the photos published of Charles with his hands around her neck during an argument were very difficult to deal with, as was the aftermath.

Jason didn’t take too kindly at Nigella’s comments and hit out at the star in an interview with The Times.

He admitted that she “did his head in” and that she was a “public-school girl” who is “trying to look cool”.

He fumed: “Nigella is full of s***. I was watching her on Saturday on the the TV and she does my head in.

“Some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth – you’ve just read that on the internet. What are you on about?”
