Avengers Infinity War theory: Doctor Strange CREATED Snap to eliminate Thanos AND Tony

Thanos had his plan to murder half the universe in Avengers Infinity War, but Doctor Strange was one step ahead. The Sorcerer Supreme was in total control and using the Time Stone realised that for the Avengers to defeat Thanos they had to initially let him win, only for Iron Man to sacrifice himself five years later in Avengers Endgame. However, a stunning new fan theory argues that Doctor Strange’s plan takes another step back in that he engineered Thanos’ original snap and all the events through Infinity War and Endgame to ensure the elimination of the biggest threats to the universe in the reality he was trusted with guarding.

Notably, those threats are supposedly Thanos, Iron Man, Vision, Hulk and the Infinity Stones themselves.

In their popular theory, Arc_the_lad argues that Thanos was obviously a problem in wanting to kill half the universe. It’s just that he had to do that first for him to eventually be defeated.

While Tony Stark needed to die as he arguably created all the problems the Avengers face from Ultron to the dangers of time travel.

As for Vision, Hulk and Thor, the three are extremely powerful and unpredictable rivals to Strange.

They added: “Of all the people/entities intimately tied to the Stones (Wanda, Quicksilver, Ultron, Vision, Captain Marvel), three are dead.

“That leaves three loose ends for Dr. Strange: Wanda, Loki and Captain Marvel.

“However, Captain Marvel is just powerful and not a threat to reality.

“Wanda’s very power is bending reality and Loki is running around the past changing it. Is it any surprise that Loki and WandaVision will both tie into the Dr. Strange 2?

In 2021, the MCU is going to be exploring different realties across their movies and Disney Plus shows.

Aside from Loki, WandaVision looks to be something of a prelude to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Perhaps, Thor Love and Thunder will be set in a different universe too?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in UK cinemas on May 7, 2021.
