Man Utd transfer plan for Paul Pogba confirmed by agent Mino Raiola ahead of January

Mino Raiola says Paul Pogba is happy to stay at Manchester United. The midfielder attempted to force through a move to Real Madrid this summer and he was expected to do so again in January.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to keep hold of Pogba to help with the major squad rebuilding job.

However, the France international frequently picks up mystery illness and injuries, which has led to rumours of a potential January exit.

Pogba has not started a match in three months and made two sub appearances, against Watford and Newcastle, but was then excluded from the squad which beat Burnley.

The 26-year-old’s future is up in the air but Raiola claims his player will remain at Old Trafford.

“I go by what he [Solskjaer] says. He [Pogba] will not move, and that’s okay. We are good with them,” Raiola told Sky Sports News.

“Paul is a little bit struggling with his injury that we tried to resolve and I think that’s our main interest now.

“So if Ole has ideas about my player and he wants to talk to me about it, he knows my number.

“And until that moment I talk with Ed Woodward, because that’s the person that I talk to at the club. I never spoke with Ole.

“So I don’t know. I only know that Paul respects him, loves him for what he has done in the past for him. And that’s it, that’s the only thing I know about Ole.”

Solskjaer said: “He can play anywhere, he can play the whole midfield, he is a box-to-box midfielder.

“He can drop deep, get it and play them long passes. He can get higher up and combine like he did on Sunday.

“It depends on the game. That’s the beauty of having Paul because he is the best all-round midfielder in the world, he can do all the roles. It’s great to have him back.”

Pogba is in contention to start United’s New Year’s Day clash away to Arsenal.
