Gary Lineker sends sarcastic relegation message to Arsenal after Chelsea defeat

Gary Lineker has jokingly stated he believes Arsenal will still be able to avoid relegation after suffering a demoralising defeat to Chelsea at the Emirates on Sunday. Mikel Arteta was taking charge of his first home game as Arsenal boss and saw his side take a deserved lead in the first half through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners had continued to dominate play with Chelsea struggling to find a way to break down Arteta’s side.

But the Blues were gifted an equaliser late on when Bernd Leno had criminally misjudged the flight of a free-kick, allowing Jorginho to tap in at the back post into an empty net.

That gave Chelsea the lift they needed to go on and find the winner, which duly came from Tammy Abraham after the England striker neatly finished from inside the box.

Arteta could be seen with his head in his hands on the touchline as Abraham’s shot fired past Leno.
