The symbol was a white-framed square with a black centre prompting one fan to ask: “What’s up with that square name?”
“One last tease before the New Year,” the writers replied with a devil emoji.
It wasn’t long before fans began to speculate it meant Hopper was alive and trying to work out his location.
One fan guessed: “WAIT ALL THE CLOCKS- TIME. THE SQUARE. TIMES SQUARE. WE’RE NOT IN HAWKINS ANYMORE. WE’RE IN NEW YORK.”
