RHOC – Vicki Gunvalson Responds To Accusations That She’s Homophobic After Her Reunion Rant Against Braunwyn Windham-Burke

Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson made headlines after the Season 14 reunion because of her rant against newbie Braunwyn Windham-Burke. The OG of the OC had a serious problem with Windham-Burke’s wild behavior during her first season on the show, and Gunvalson really didn’t like that Windham-Burke shared a kiss with Tamra Judge in front of Bravo cameras.

Gunvalson screamed at Windham-Burke, telling her to do those things off-camera. She said it’s been 15 years and she started the show, and “we don’t do that.” This led to many fans accusing Gunvalson of being homophobic, and now the 57-year-old is firing back.

“I’ve been seeing some things on social media that people are portraying me as homophobic. I’m gonna hit it right on, head on — I am not homophobic,” Gunvalson said in an Instagram video. “I’ve got family members that are gay and lesbian and I’ve got obviously Bravo fans, personal friends. I’m not [homophobic].”

Still, Gunvalson has a problem with Windham-Burke, and she said that she doesn’t think it’s appropriate for the mom-of-seven to make out with someone on TV. Gunvalson said it doesn’t matter if Windham-Burke is making out with her husband or with Judge, she still thinks the behavior is inappropriate and those things should be done off-camera.

Gunvalson explained that it’s something no one needs to see, and she is sorry if people took it differently than what the truth is. She also said that Windham-Burke “bugs” her, so she doesn’t like anything she does.

Bravo demoted Gunvalson to a “friend” role for Season 14, while Windham-Burke took her place as a full-time cast member. Gunvalson said during the reunion that she thinks the newbie’s behavior – i.e. kissing and nakedness – is disrespectful, and Windham-Burke replied, “Just because I choose to kiss women doesn’t make me classless.”

Kelly Dodd pointed out that Gunvalson should be mad at Judge, too, which caused a big argument among the cast. Even though the RHOC cast was defending Windham-Burke, Gunvalson kept yelling at her to “turn it down” because she was new to the show and kids were watching.

“You’re not the boss of me!” said Windham-Burke.“This is who I am. I didn’t come on the show to give you the best version of me. I came on the show to be me. And you don’t get to decide it.”
