PS4 update: One of 2019’s best PlayStation game demos is back

PS4 gamers have the chance to download and play a number of returning game experiences first launched during 2019.

And there’s one that PlayStation may want to get started on straight away, following its return to the PS Store.

Gamers looking to enjoy some old-school fun can find the Short-Lived MediEvil demo back in the PS4 store.

This was initially launched as a timed bonus, meaning Sony revoked access to it just before the full remake was launched in November.

Now gamers will find that the Medieval remake is back on the PS4’s demo page, complete with new content.

Getting your hands on this free download will also provide fans with the Sir Dan’s Helmet item for the full game.

Fans of the old-school platforms will also be able to traverse the Graveyard and Hilltop Mausoleum and fight their way through Gallowmere’s own multi-coloured grinch: The Stained Glass Demon.

It also makes the perfect way for fans to test out the MediEvil Remake to see if they want to buy the full version.

Developers Other Ocean also celebrated the return of the PS4 demo by providing an in-depth look at how they meticulously updated Sir Dan’s model for the PlayStation 4, telling fans:

“With the advancements in technology and the power of the PS4, bringing Sir Dan up to modern standards and expectations took a lot of thought and care from the team to make it happen.

“The process from investigation, concept, experimentation, collaboration, and animation resulted into the embodiment of something special for the fans and the franchise.

“All the pieces together took Sir Dan to the next level and is definitely something we are all very proud of.”

The good news is that the returning MediEvil demo doesn’t appear to have a timer attached, meaning gamers don’t have to rush to download it on PS4.

The MediEvil Short-Lived Demo comes with a range of language support and requires around 12GB of space on all PS4 consoles.

And there’s another demo surprise expected in 2020 for PS4 gamers. According to the latest reports, a playable version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be made available in the coming weeks.

Square Enix has yet to confirm that they will be launching a new demo in 2020, but a series of leaks appear to confirm that it is coming to the PlayStation Store.

For now, we have no set date, but with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake launching in March, it should be long before we hear more about what’s coming next.

Square Enix has had playable demos of the game available at E3 and other trade shows, and it wouldn’t be surprising to learn it will contain content from these short experiences.

This showcased the opening section of the game where Cloud, Barret and the other members of AVALANCHE led an assault on a Mako Reactor in Midgar.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently scheduled to launch on March 3 for PS4, almost five years after it was first announced.
