After a stormy year, Jacob Gallagher (played by Joe-Warren Plant) and David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) thought they were finally getting their lives on track. However, on Christmas morning the pair were left a baby on their doorstep by Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) and their worlds were turned upside down once again. The sinister teacher manipulated schoolboy Jacob while she was dating David and the pair have no idea which one of them is the father.

Maya cheated on David with Jacob so it’s likely she could have had a secret night of passion with a mystery man.
In recent ITV scenes, David and Jacob sent off a DNA test to confirm who the baby’s father is.
After everything Jacob has been through, David is terrified he’ll turn out to be the father and will have his life thrown off course.
Liam, who was previously married to Maya, may hold the key to the paternity dilemma in a second rather shocking way.
Although their relationship was over around the time of conception, it’s possible him and Maya shared a night of passion and would explain why he’s so desperate to help.
Emmerdale viewers have certainly made their minds up over Liam’s involvement in the baby drama.
