Tyson Fury confirms Deontay Wilder rematch date as Gypsy King sends Bronze Bomber warning

Tyson Fury has officlally confirmed he will go head-to-head with Deontay Wilder once again on February 22. The ‘Gypsy King’ fought Wilder in a controversial split draw in December 2018 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

And they will trade blows once again in early 2020, with Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena the confirmed destination for the showdown.

Fury has warned his American opponent that he will knock him out this time.

He said: “Watch me knock out Deontay Wilder – also known as the Big Dosser.

“There’s no more ducking and diving.

“The date has been set, and the ‘Bomb Squad’ is about to be securely detonated and the real champion crowned as the world watches on for the most anticipated fight in years.

“This is unfinished business for me, but come February 22, this dosser will finally get what’s coming to him, and I can’t wait!”

Wilder, meanwhile, said: “After February 22, there will be no more unanswered questions.

“I will finish what I started and this time Tyson Fury will not be getting up off the canvas so quickly.

“I have proven myself time and time again and I will do it again in February.

“I promise my fans that there won’t be any controversy with this one. I’m going to finish it.”

The pair’s first bout was a thrilling 12-round duel in which Fury appeared to have outboxed the ‘Bronze Bomber’ and looked to have been knocked out cold in the 12th round.

A rematch has been in the works ever since as Fury looks to become the first man to beat Wilder and rob him of his WBC heavyweight belt.

Wilder has since beaten Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz, both via knockout to take his record to 42 wins with 41 KOs and one draw.

Fury overcame Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin, by TKO and unanimous decision respectively, to tune himself up.

And the Brit feels he is in peak condition headed into the rematch, saying on Instagram: “This is a special message for Deontay Wilder, the big dosser.

“I’ll put everything down on beating you next time. I’m not afraid of you, I ain’t bothered about you, bum.

“I wasn’t bothered about you back then and I certainly ain’t bothered about you now. You big dosser, you’re getting it.

“You know you lost – you trainer, your manager, your wife, your kids know.

“They all know the Gypsy King beat you – I’m coming for you, p***y.

“He’s going round saying he fights all the best heavyweights.

“But Dominic Breazeale isn’t the best heavyweight and nor is Luis Ortiz. They’re average at best.

“You’ve only fought one good man in your career – that’s me and I beat you.

“Everybody in the world knows you lost to the Gypsy King. The Gypsy King that was out of the ring for three years on 50 per cent. You’ll get bust next time.”
