Galaxy Watch comes free in these outrageous EE deals

EE is giving away a Galaxy Watch Active with contracts for the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 5G and the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. That means you can accompany your new smartphone with a £200 wearable capable of delivering notifications and tracking everything from intense cardio sessions to sleep. The Galaxy Watch Active was unwrapped alongside the Galaxy S10 back in February. Just like previous Samsung wearables before it, the device runs the South Korean firm’s Tizen operating system and not Google’s Wear OS.

As you’d expect from any Samsung operating system, customisation plays a bit part in Tizen – users can choose from a variety of watch faces or even make their own if they prefer. Health and fitness features are undoubtedly the north star of the Galaxy Watch Active though – the device can track everything from a spin class to an outdoor swim and can be seamlessly linked up with apps such as MyFitnessPal so you can see every calorie you’ve burned and eaten all in one place.

Here are some of the best Samsung contracts on EE that allow customers to claim the wearable free of charge:

• Samsung Galaxy S10 | 128GB | EE | 24-months | 60GB data | unlimited minutes and texts | £30 upfront | £59 per month

Although the Galaxy Watch Active has since been surpassed by the Galaxy Watch Active 2, Samsung recently brought many of its features to the original.

Thanks to a software update, owners of the first Galaxy Watch Active can now elegantly glide through its software by moving their finger around its bezel. This feature was previously exclusive to the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and is called the Touch Bezel.

The original Active was also recently granted 24 new sub-dials and complications and improvements to Bixby – Samsung’s virtual assistant.

Announcing a new user experience (UX) for the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active back in November, Samsung said: “The new update brings several new UX features to both the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active as well, significantly streamlining the user experience.

“Icons for in-use apps have been moved to the bottom of the watch face, helping users keep track of and quickly access any apps with in-progress tasks, such as outgoing calls.

“Additionally, the current time will now always be displayed on-screen when the stopwatch app is in use or users are on a call, and users can more easily customise the icons in their quick panel thanks to a change in layout.

“Other UX benefits include a clearer graphic UI, easier user interaction, and new emoji offerings in a range of diverse skin tones.”
