Cruise: Wearing this on Carnival Cruises could have consequences after dress code update

The new dress code update follows in the footsteps of many airlines, who have been known to ban travellers wearing inappropriate t-shirts from flying.

A gate agent revealed that passengers who try to board flights wearing “obscene” t-shirts could be stopped.

The agent explained the rules on Reddit, saying: “Don’t wear shirts with obscene words.

“We can’t board you to the aeroplane with a shirt that says a bad word.

“You will probably have to change it as it might offend another passenger.”

Several incidents of people being kicked off flights due to obscene slogan tees have been reported by the media in recent years.

In 2017, Birmingham Live reported that a group of 18 women on a hen do were removed from a Jet2 flight to Magaluf after wearing slogan t-shirts with a swear word on the front.

At the time of the incident, a Jet2.com spokesman said: “The group were asked to either wear different attire or cover up the offensive language, and were reminded of this on numerous occasions, including by the airport police whilst in the departures area.

“Once in the cabin, and in the presence of families and young children, several members of the group decided to ignore these repeated warnings, at which point our crew took the decision to remove them from the flight.”
