Destiny 2 Weekly Reset time as Iron Banner returns to PS4 and Xbox One

This week will see Bungie bring back the Iron Banner on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the first being held during The Season of Dawn.

This will all be going live as part of today’s Destiny 2 Weekly Reset, which has a set time and schedule for Guardians to follow.

And the good news is that fans will be able to carry on baking cookies and collecting recipes as they take on the latest Iron Banner challenges.

As many gamers will already know, Tuesday is when Bungie chooses to wipe all progression and rewards for active rituals and activities.

The Weekly Reset allows for new powerful rewards to be offered by Bungie and is something that will be available on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

Over the years, Bungie has changed what activities are affected by the Weekly Reset, phasing some in and out, depending on how they have chosen to reshape the game.

The core activities affected by the Weekly Reset are the Nightfall Strike, Weekly Clan Engrams, Weekly Clan XP Caps, and Eververse Bright Dust Selections.

But it should also be noted that during the Dawning other activities might also be affected in some way. So far, Bungie has yet to confirm any maintenance that will disrupt gameplay on live servers.

And that probably means that a new update will not need to be downloaded and installed on December 24.

What we do know is that the Iron Banner will be returning and this has also given us a good Weekly Reset schedule to follow.

According to Bungie, The Destiny 2 Iron Banner will start at 5pm GMT, or 9am PT in the United States.

So we would expect the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset time to also be completed around that time, at the latest, by 6pm GMT.

Bungie has confirmed that a new 2.0 Armour set will be up for grabs during the latest Iron Banner event, which is scheduled to end on December 31.

“There will be an Armor 2.0 version of the Iron Truage set available this season,” the message from Bungie explains.

“The Seasonal Pursuit to earn this armour will work similar to last Season but we have changed some of the steps and what weapons are required to gain progress.

“If you were paying close attention to the Season of Dawn calendar you may have noticed an Iron Banner-themed Bow.

“That image will also show up as director dialogue in the game when Iron Banner starts next week.

“We were hoping to have the new Iron Banner Bow available this Season, but it had to be pushed to Season 10. Sorry about the delay, but we wanted to call it out to avoid any confusion.

“We also made a change to the An Arsenal of Tricks bounty. The ability final blow requirements has been reduced by half.”

Here’s a guide from Bungie on how best to compete in the Iron Banner during December 2019:

  • There is a new Seasonal Pursuit which must be completed prior to being able to turn in tokens to purchase packages from Lord Saladin.
  • This pursuit is character based and rewards a Season of Dawn armor set.
  • Each step of the pursuit awards Iron Banner weapons or armor.
  • Most of the objectives within the pursuit track progress at any point during Season of Dawn, even if you have not yet acquired the pursuit.
  • Until the Seasonal Pursuit has been completed, all rewards will be obtained from completing matches and bounties.
  • All of the rewards will be weapons until the Seasonal Pursuit has been completed.
  • There will be seven bounties offering Pinnacle rewards (970 Power Max,) but only four are available per event.

It will also be worth keeping an eye for the latest Destiny 2 news during the Weekly Reset, to keep track of any last-minute changes.
