The asteroid is racing towards Earth today at speeds of about 16.37km per second or 36,618mph (58,932km/h).
But the good news is the asteroid will fly past our homeworld without striking.
NASA said: “As they orbit the Sun, NEOs can occasionally approach close to Earth.
“Note that a ‘close’ passage astronomically can be very far away in human terms: millions or even tens of millions of kilometres.”
At its closest, the space rock will approach Earth from a distance of about 0.04994 astronomical units (au).
