Man Utd transfer news: Erling Haaland sets decision deadline after meeting four clubs

Oliver Mintzlaff admits his RB Leipzig side are facing a tough battle to sign Erling Braut Haaland. The 19-year-old striker has told the Bundesliga outfit he will definitely be leaving Red Bull Salzburg within the next six months.

Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Leipzig have all met with the striker in an attempt to convince him of a January move.

However, the youngster needs to decide if he wants to make a step to a mid-tier team to continue his progression.

Haaland has scored 28 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season, attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

But Leipzig, who are Salzburg’s sister team, are hoping their guarantee of regular football will be enough to convince Haaland to hop across the German border.

“It’s the same cliche again: we can buy everything and we can get everything and we can do everything,” Mintzlaff sarcastically told Sport1.

Dealing with the attacker’s super agent Mino Raiola, who attempted to force through Paul Pogba’s Old Trafford exit this summer, was expected to be a stumbling block.

However, Solskjaer says does not expect Raiola to stand in the way if Haaland chooses Manchester as his next destination.

“Players can choose their own representatives,” Solskjaer explained.

“I had probably my best friend looking after me and it is so important that every player has complete 100 per cent trust in whoever represents them.

But Solskjaer insists he will always have the final say as he looks to bolster his ranks when the transfer window reopens next month.

“I will always have the final say,” said Solskjaer. “I am not going to let any players in the door without me saying yes definitely.

“It has to be that way. it is a good process and of course if I don’t like a player I don’t want him there.”
