Samsung’s very own Motorola Razr may have just leaked in full

Motorola unleashed its nostalgia drenched Razr back in November and stole our hearts with its clamshell design and foldable OLED panel. Now it seems Samsung is looking to ride the retro wave with a successor to the Galaxy Fold that boasts a similar aesthetic. During its scheduled Developer Conference back in November, Samsung showed a brief teaser for its next foldable phone. The 20-second clip exhibited its current Galaxy Fold adopting a Motorola Razr-like design, suggesting the firm is exploring such a form factor for its next pliable flagship.

More recently, a report from Bloomberg claimed Samsung is indeed working on a clamshell Galaxy Fold successor that’s set to be formally unwrapped “at around the time of the Galaxy S11’s launch in February”.

The outlet added the device could boast a whopping 108-megapixel main camera and a telephoto lens offering a 5x optical zoom, both of which are expected to debut on the South Korean firm’s forthcoming Galaxy S11 series.

Now it seems Android fans have been given their first glimpse of the foldable flagship in the wild. Renowned tipster Ice Universe recently posted four alleged images of the device on Twitter he claimed first emerged on Chinese social media.

The device is shown looking very similar to the Galaxy Note 10 when open thanks to its all-screen design and centred hole punch for a single selfie camera. It’s also exhibited running Android with Samsung’s One UI skin on top, adding further weight to claims it is indeed a device from the South Korean tech giant.

Just like Motorola’s revamped Razr, the device is displayed with a hinge in the middle allowing it to transition between folded and unfolded form factors.

Folded, the device is shown with what appears to be a small always-on display in the bottom left-hand corner accompanied by a dual camera system and flash.

Interestingly, the foldable device is showcased without a true exterior screen that’s boasted by Motorola’s new Razr. Not only is the secondary panel used for always-on features like displaying the time, weather and date, but it can also be used to quickly reply to messages and act as a camera viewfinder for taking selfies.

It’s unclear what the specs of the device in question are. But if it’s indeed a new flagship foldable device from Samsung it would surely boast a rapid processor and plenty of RAM.

Of course, Samsung hasn’t commented on the latest images, meaning it’s unclear if the device’s hardware is final, if it’s a prototype or if it’s a Samsung device at all.

Still, with rumours pointing towards a February reveal for Samsung’s next foldable phone, Android fans might not have to wait long to see what’s in store.
