Michelle Obama heartache: Ex-FLOTUS reveals insight into her personal life on Instagram

The former First Lady, and wife of ex-US President Barack Obama, took to Instagram to give her fans the update. Michelle used the social media platform to promote her new journal ‘I Am Becoming’. She uploaded a series of pictures to her Instagram story of her very first original journal, encouraging others to write down their thoughts

The ex-FLOTUS captioned the first image: “I first started journalling when I was in my mid 20s as I was trying to figure out where I was going in my life.

“It gave me a place to share my most raw, unfiltered thoughts and feelings no matter how messy they were.”

Michelle then added a picture of the new journal on offer.

She captioned it: “That’s why I created the ‘I Am Becoming’ Journal.

“A place where you can sort through your experiences and emotions on your own terms.”

The former First Lady then gave a sneak peek into the diary, asking for responses from one of the page’s questions.

Michelle wrote: “So whether you journal now or want to get started, I want to hear from you.

“When we’re open to our own stories, and all their mistakes and contradictions, we’ll find a great understanding of ourselves.”

The former First Lady replied with clapping hand emojis.

Another of Michelle’s followers asked her: “Is the journal appropriate for boys as well? I would like to get this for my teenage son.”

Michelle replied: “This is a great time to start journaling! I created the Becoming Journal for anyone to help sort through their own experiences and tough emotions.”

One person responded to the question saying they wanted to be “a good mom, a loved woman and a warrior”.

The former First Lady replied: “Raising my girls has been my most important priority. But you also need to make time for yourself as a parent because you can’t take care of others unless you’re healthy too.”

It comes as Michelle recently toured southeast Asia to promote the work of the Obama Foundation with her husband Barack.

The two visited countries like Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia to discuss the transformative power of girls’ education in the region.

Michelle shared images on her Instagram page where they were inundated with praise.

One Instagram user posted: “Michelle you’re so amazing.”

A second wrote: “Love you. Thank you for all that you do for the community.”

Carol Nuques said on the Instagram: “You are a great and amazing woman.”
