Melania Trump humiliation: FLOTUS’ sparks fury with controversial BeBest campaign tweet

The FLOTUS said she welcomed a move from the US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to support those in trouble with opioids. The opioid crisis is a cornerstone of her BeBest campaign, but has been heavily criticised previously. While claiming to want to help children critics claim she is avoiding tackling her husband’s online bullying.

In the tweet, Melania said: “Today’s @HHSgov & @CMSgov announcement is aimed at promoting more coordination and integration of the care of some of the most vulnerable mothers and their children: those affected by the opioid crisis.

“The #BeBest initiative continues to support work that combats opioid misuse.”

It caused a stir online as many reacted furiously towards the tweet, which was liked thousands of times.

One wrote: “Oh, please. It’s a slogan. A catch phrase… and not even a smart sounding catch phrase.

“This is an amazing program said no one ever.”

Another said: “There are many vulnerable babies and children in the cages at the border. How do you chose which ones are #BeBest worthy?”

A third replied: “Be Best is absolute c**p.”

And a fourth added: “Be best is a joke…..just like you and your husband.”

JUST IN: Melania Trump holds ‘more power’ over Donald than believed

A statement via the FLOTUS’ press secretary said: “BeBest is the First Lady’s initiative, and she will continue to use it to do all she can to help children.

“It is no secret that the President and First Lady often communicate differently – as most married couples do.

“Their son is not an activist who travels the globe giving speeches.

“He is a 13-year-old who wants and deserves privacy.”

The spat between Donald and Greta grew after the latter was made Time’s Person of the Year.

Trump has previously won the award.

However, upon hearing of Greta’s win he tweeted: “So ridiculous.

“Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend!

“Chill Greta, Chill!”

Despite her age, Greta shrugged off the tweet.

She updated her Twitter bio to say: “A teenager working on her anger management problem.

“Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”
