Incoming Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti makes Zlatan Ibrahimovic January transfer priority

Carlo Ancelotti has made Zlatan Ibrahimovic his top transfer priority as he prepares to take over the vacant manager’s position at Everton. Ancelotti was sacked by Napoli last week and he will replace former Toffees boss Marco Silva at Goodison Park in the coming days.

The ultra-successful manager appears to be close to finalising a deal with the Merseysiders and is expected to be in the stands during Saturday’s home clash with Arsenal (12.30pm) in what could be caretaker coach Duncan Ferguson’s last match in charge.

According to Tuttosport, Ibrahimovic could follow as the former AC Milan manager has made him his No 1 target ahead of the January transfer window.

The Swedish superstar’s contract with LA Galaxy runs out on New Year’s Eve and he won’t be extending his stay in the United States.

Ancelotti has asked for a “certain number of reinforcements” in his discussions with Everton’s management and the star striker is top of his list.

This comes as no surprise as the former Real Madrid boss also wanted to sign the 38-year-old at Napoli.

The ex-Chelsea manager may look for some help from the player’s agent Mino Raiola, who has a good relationship with Everton after the deal they reached together for Moise Kean in the summer.

Ibrahimovic worked with the Italian at Paris Saint-Germain and together they won the Ligue 1 in 2013.

And it appears though like the former Inter Milan centre-forward would be keen to reunite with Ancelotti despite recent links with Tottenham, Milan and Manchester United.
