The Masked Singer Season 2 – Who Won The Golden Mask Trophy?

After a season that featured the unmasking of a music icon (Patti Labelle), a four-time Grammy winner (Seal), and numerous famous faces from all areas of entertainment, The Masked Singer aired their season finale this week and unmasked the three finalists – Flamingo, Rottweiler, and Fox – while crowning a winner. Who were the celebrities that were unmasked during the finale, and who won the Golden Mask trophy?

Flamingo was the last female singer in the competition, and she performed the Tina Turner version of Proud Mary while showcasing the confidence she has gained this season as a singer and performer. She ended up coming in third, and judges Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg – as well as the entire internet – knew exactly who she was: former Cheetah Girl and co-host of The Real, Adrienne Bailon.

In second place was Rottweiler, who has showcased his strong, amazing voice all season long. He chose Sia’s hit Alive for his final performance, and the Rottweiler didn’t disappoint. For some reason, the judges just couldn’t nail down who was under the mask, as Thicke and Scherzinger kept landing on Glee alum Darren Criss, McCarthy-Wahlberg went with Jason Mraz, and Ken Jeong guessed actor Dave Franco.

But, every old-school American Idol fan on the planet has known from day one that the unmistakable voice of the Rottweiler belonged to Chris Daughtry.

That means the winner of The Masked Singer Season 2 was Fox, who performed Otis Redding’s Try A Little Tenderness – complete with a rap in the middle about all of the guesses that the judges have made about his identity this season.

Some fans may have noticed that the Fox said the name of one of the judges’ guesses twice during his rap, and this pretty much gave away his identity – Whose Line Is It Anyway star and Let’s Make A Deal host Wayne Brady.

Thicke and Scherzinger did guess Brady, while McCarthy-Wahlberg and Jeong couldn’t let go of the idea that Jamie Foxx was under the Fox mask. But, that would have just been way too on the nose.

When host Nick Cannon helped his longtime friend take off his mask, the Emmy award-winning Brady looked at him and said, “I wanted to tell you so much!” To close out the show, the incredibly talented Brady sang parts of Try A Little Tenderness without the mask, and also added a freestyle rap about Cannon and the judges panel to showcase just how brilliant he is with coming up with lyrics on the fly.
