Another picture taken in the gym showed him toning up his arms in a workout by lifting weights.

Weight training can be a good way to burn calories and help dieters slim down, Rocky Snyder, personal trainer, explained.

He told Healthline.com: “Strength training is not a highly aerobic exercise, so many people believe that it is not a good way to burn fat.

“Immediately following a strength training session, the body needs to replenish the energy drained and repair the muscle damage that has been caused.

In a post, Alan said: “Health is not just about the weights you’re lifting or what you’re eating. It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying!!”

The soap star told followers that he burned thousands of calories a day and eats well to power himself.

He also shared he burned a total of 4321 calories in 24 hours.

However, the actor does not seem to be too strict with his diet and has shared pictures of him enjoying a beer every now and then.
