Watch: Passenger entertains himself mid-flight with ‘unhygenic’ activity

Travelling by plane can be a long process, particularly for passengers jetting off to more far-flung destinations. Plus, super long-haul routes are on the rise, with the world’s longest flight – lasting a whopping 20 hours from New York to Sydney – taking off in October.

It’s no surprise then that travellers are looking for more ways to keep themselves entertained on board.

One passenger in particular too this to the extreme, with his bizarre method of keeping himself occupied on board.

The moment caught the attention of his fellow passengers, who were quick to document his behaviour.

A video, posted to the Instagram account @PassenegerShaming, has since amassed 98,0008 views at the time of writing.

The man was filmed engaging in a certain activity that isn’t often encouraged in a cabin, particularly in such a small space.

It appears that the footage was filmed in an economy cabin, with the active passenger making use of the small amount of foot space the aisle between rows has to offer.

The passenger, dressed in a grey long-sleeved top, is making the most of the time by engaging in a workout.

He can be seen doing pushups on the ground beside his fellow travellers, a pair of wireless headphones presumably playing music to keep the momentum going.

DON’T MISS

Although some onlookers applauded the man’s move, it seems others felt he was merely “attention-seeking”.

“Someone needs some attention,” wrote one Instagram user.

Another said: “Wow that’s an all-time asshole move.”

There were also those that suggested alternative methods.

“A walk around is fine, and I have flown to Asia many times,” commented a dismayed viewer.

However, there were others who thought the man was making good use of the time, and even influential.

The video was posted along with the caption “Just a little MONDAY MOTIVATION to get your week started!” deeming the man a “#fitspo”.

“As long as he’s not in someone else’s space I don’t see the problem. Sometimes the flights are long,” said one viewer.

Another commented: “Why is everyone hating?? Maybe that’s what calms him down. I don’t see him bothering anyone. Haters gonna hate.”

Though opinions were divided on whether his decision was good or bad, it seems most people were in unison when it comes to hygiene.

“I guess he doesn’t realise those floors are never cleaned and often thrown-up on amongst other things,” pointed out a travel enthusiast.

“Get him some hand sanitiser,” retorted another.
