Power season 6: Did Saxe confirm Ghost is still alive? Fans spot MAJOR clue

There’s no love lost between James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick) and Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) on Power and their rivalry certainly reached boiling point in season six. So much so, Saxe is currently one of the suspects behind who shot Ghost after he was seen falling from the balcony in truth in the midseason finale. However, following a newly released trailer from Starz, it looks like Saxe may know more about the fate of Ghost and whether he’s alive or not than others do.

In the new promo released ahead of Power season six’s return, each of the suspects are shown arrested and being separately interviewed by Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen).

The likes of Saxe, Dre (Rotimi), Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr), Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate), Tasha (Naturi Naughton), Paz (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora) all appear under the microscope.

While the promo doesn’t reveal exactly who the shooter is, some fans think they’ve spotted some Easter eggs in Saxe’s speech.

He begins: “Let me spell it out for you: Ghost is a drug kingpin,”

Saxe adds: “With a long list of enemies, any one of them could’ve shot him.

“I was this close to putting him away for life,

“If I had, none of this would’ve happened. Okay, that sounded like a confession, but it’s not.”

He may not have given away explicitly the status of James St Patrick, but fans quickly picked up on the fact Saxe said he “is” a drug kingpin” as opposed to “was.”

One commented under the trailer on YouTube: “Saxe said Ghost ‘is’ the biggest NOT ‘was’.”

The Power fan added: “Ghost is alive, vengeance will be his.”

A second viewer also spotted the phrasing and said: “Sax said ghost ‘IS’ not Ghost ‘WAS’. Yeah, he alive.”

While a third reveal why Saxe is the prime suspect: “Yeah, I still think Sax shot Ghost, he’s still upset that he couldn’t put him away and made him lose everything.”

Saxe’s hatred for Ghost has only heightened in season six too with his ironclad plan to arrest him falling through at the last hurdle.

There’s also the fact Ghost and Tommy were within seconds of killing Saxe by suffocating him earlier in the sixth series.

All of these factors combined make Saxe a pretty likely suspect in the shooting along with the six other characters in Ramona’s interrogation room.

However, some pretty convincing theories have emerged suggesting it was none of the aforementioned suspects but someone completely different.

Jason Micic’s (Mike Dopud) Serbian gang are believed by some to have got revenge on Ghost for their leader’s murder while his new girlfriend Ramona (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) is also in the frame with some fans.

Power season 6 returns on January 5 on Starz.
