Fortnite Winterfest start time: Here’s when Winterfest could start in Fortnite

Epic Games has finally confirmed when we can expect the Fortnite Winterfest to start, even if not directly sharing with fans.

As many Battle Royale gamers will already know, the new Fortnite event looks set to kick off soon and will offer a range of new cosmetics to unlock and challenges to complete.

The Fortnite Winterfest free gifts and rewards have started to be shared online, ahead of the big release.

Another 14 Days of Challenges look set to land over the holiday period, providing Fortnite fans with plenty to do.

We also know that there will be plenty of new skins to buy from the Fortnite Item Shop.

But it’s taken a while for gamers to find out exactly when the new Fortnite Winterfest celebration would be kicking off.

WHAT TIME DOES WINTERFEST START IN FORTNITE?

According to the latest news from Epic Games, a new Fortnite update is being released tomorrow, December 18.

And if past events are anything to go by, we can assume this will include the start time for Fortnite Winterfest.

This will mean downloading a new update, as well as waiting for server downtime to end.

This is scheduled to begin at 9am, GMT, and looks set to last a few hours.

And with that in mind, we can give a rough estimate on when the big event will arrive.

The Fortnite Winterfest start time looks to be scheduled for 1pm, GMT, meaning gamers will be waiting around four hours for maintenance to end.

And it should be noted that downtime could be completed before schedule, allowing for an earlier Winterfest launch.

For gamers in the United States, it looks like Fortnite Winterfest will start at around 8am, ET.

When everything is up and running, gamers can expect Epic Games to provide a rundown of everything included in the new holiday celebrations.

Here’s the latest news shared by Epic Games on the upcoming server maintenance and downtime for Fortnite Battle Royale: “Season’s greetings. v11.31 arrives tomorrow. Downtime begins at 4 AM ET (0900 UTC). Stay tuned for updates when downtime ends.”

As mentioned above and included in today’s message from Epic Games, the current maintenance schedule could change and effect when Winterfest goes live.

The main appeal of the new Fortnite event will be the chance to unlock lots of free rewards by completing challenges. Better yet, you can earn treats simply by logging into the game and opening free presents in the lobby.

Dataminers have also discovered plans to unvault different weapons each day during the event. This includes the Heavy Sniper, the Double Barrel, the Drum Gun, Flint-Knock Pistol and Stink Bombs.

That’s on top of the Infantry Rifle, Dual Pistols, Tactical SMG, Shockwave Grenades, Drum Shotgun, Boom Bow, Hand Cannon, Suppressed SMG and Boogie Bomb.

And according to the latest reports, players will be able to earn rewards by warming yourself by the fireplace in the Winterfest Cabin and by dancing at Holiday trees in Named Locations.
