Joe Sugg: 'She backed out' Strictly star moans at Shirley Ballas for breaking promise

Joe Sugg, 28, reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing last year with his professional partner and now girlfriend, Dianne Buswell, 30. During their time in the competition, the two missed out on performing certain dances together.

Joe has since repeatedly said how much he would love to learn and perform the Rumba and ended up getting head judge on the show, Shirley Ballas, to agree to doing it with him.

However, Shirley, who is known as the Queen of Latin, recently suffered an injury and was unable to keep her promise to Joe.

Joe said the judge had “backed out” of their agreement and hilariously called her “Skive-y Ballas”.

On the official Strictly podcast, the YouTube sensation told co-star Kim Winston: “I snuck into Shirley’s dressing room, head judge on Strictly, she was getting ready for the show, I even got my haircut for the occasion and put my suit on…”

The dancer laughed, before adding: “You think I would do that to you Joe?

“I don’t know,” he said, as Shirley began to gush: “Mr ballroom dancer with a beautiful long and elegant neck.”

She continued: “Who I said could be a world champion, I’ve been waiting for my opportunity for a year and when the time comes, I can’t do it!”

“Ten seconds in and I’m already blushing, thanks Shirley,” Joe said, whilst Shirley giggled away.

She injured himself during a pantomime performance at the Darlington Hippodrome last week.

The star uploaded a video of herself on Instagram displaying her upper thighs, which had been strapped up, and said she was “absolutely devastated”.

Meanwhile, following the final on Saturday night, Joe congratulated the winners, Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse, in an Instagram post.

The social media influencer also thanked his co-star, Kim, for working on the podcast alongside him.
