Carol Vorderman, 58, recently said she has been suffering with bronchitis, an infection of the main airways of the lungs, causing them to become irritated and inflamed, according to the NHS. Giving a fan an update on her health, she said described her symptoms.
After Carol tweeted: “Happy Wednesday,” a fan asked how she was feeling after she wasn’t able to attend an event at the beginning of the week.
The Countdown legend revealed she has been “poorly for so long” and it got worse a few days ago.
Carol even said she “struggled to breath” as she explained she’s still on antibiotics and is now “on the mend”.
She tweeted: “Awwww…please tell them I will…. just so poorly for so long with this and it accelerated last Thursday..struggled to breathe…

“TED: ‘I think it might work Dougal. I know it’ll work. It will work.’

Earlier in the week, Carol was due to present the Wales Sports Awards alongside Gethin Jones, 41.
But the star later told her social media fans she has pulled out due to bronchitis.
She wrote: “Sadly I won’t be there Ben… proper poorly now with bad bronchitis thing… but huge congratulations… it’s wonderful what you all do.”
The mother-of-two later shared a picture of her and Gethin alongside details about the event where she said she’s “fed up”.
Carol commented: “Have a wonderful evening tmrw #WalesSportsAwards & huge congratulations to all of our incredible winners.
“Sadly, I’ve had to pull out because of a lung infection.
“I’m so sorry, & totally fed up about not being there to share what will be an amazing night… but sending love.”(sic)
