Man Utd chief Ed Woodward has Jadon Sancho and James Maddison transfer bargaining chip

Manchester United have showed glimpses of their best form in recent times, with Solskjaer masterminding vital victories over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

But, despite those wins, the Red Devils manager is well aware his side needs strengthening.

Manchester United remain a far cry from their usual selves. The wins over Tottenham and City were both achieved through counter-attacking tactics rather than matching their opponents in a straight fight.

Not that that concerns Solskjaer for the time being. Football is a results business and he’s just got two big ones.

But he wants his United side to be THE force of the game, not a side who view City and Tottenham as being superior.

And that’s why Sancho and Maddison are on his radar.
