Andrea McLean: ‘Is everything alright?’ Loose Women star in surprising marriage admission

Andrea McLean, 50, revealed she has been attending marriage counselling sessions with her husband Nick Feeney, 46. The Loose Women panellist opened up about the couple’s “bumpy year” and admitted the therapy has benefitted their relationship.

The ITV favourite has been married to the businessman for two years, after tying the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony, in 2017.

During an appearance on Loose Women, Andrea praised their counselling sessions helped them with their “communication” and admitted their relationship is “great”.

“A lot of people think going to counselling means there is problem in your relationship, but if you go before there is a problem and learn to communicate – because 99 per cent of all problems are communication,” she said.

She added: “So you learn, ‘Why does someone react in that way?’

The presenter revealed the couple had been going to sessions for the past five months.

Andrea explained: “Nick and I have been going to counselling for five months or so, and when I tell friends they go ‘Oh, is everything alright?’

“Everything is great! But we want to make sure – as we work together as well – how can we communicate so we see each other as husband and wife and not just business partners?”

The Loose Women star did not go into too much detail on the couples issues but revealed it was like a weight being lifted.

The former couple share her eldest child together, Finlay, 17.

She was then wed to former husband Steve Toms in 2009 but subsequently divorced in 2012 – he is the father of her second child, daughter Amy, 12.

Nick has two teenage daughters from a previous relationship.

Speaking to Hello magazine about her marriage to Nick, Andrea divulged: “I never thought I’d feel like this again, that I’d fall in love and get the chance to start a new life.
