Joe Sugg: ‘He still hasn’t proposed!’ Strictly pro Dianne Buswell talks marriage plans

Joe Sugg, 28, and Dianne Buswell, 30, reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing last year but were beaten to the Glitterball trophy by Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton. Since then, the two have gone from strength to strength as shortly after, they confirmed their romance and moved in together this summer.

A year into their relationship, the two have opened up about their marriage plans in an interview with Radio Times.

However, there won’t be any wedding bells just yet as Joe admitted marriage isn’t on the cards.

He told the Christmas issue of the publication: “No! We haven’t even been together a year yet. I’m not one of those people who rushes into things.”

Dianne joked it will be a very long time until Joe proposes as she said he’s very patient.

“Joe’s the most patient person that I’ve ever met, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m 60 and he still hasn’t proposed!” the professional dancer added.

The YouTube sensation revealed it will happen one day, but not anytime soon.

He admitted: “Definitely one day, but we’ve still got so much to do together. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get her a Haribo ring for a Christmas present…”

The couple are performing together again in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, a year on from their stint in the series.

Star’s included in the show are Gemma Atkinson and her boyfriend Gorka Marquez, who had their first child together in July, and Debbie McGee is back, partnered up with Kevin Clifton.

Other partnerships include Chizzy Akudolu, who will be dancing with Italian dancer Graziano, Mark Wright will be performing with Janette Manrara and Richard Arnold will be dancing with Luba Mushtuk.

Last week, following the filming of the special, Gemma, 35, told her Instagram fans she’s not allowed to share any details or images from the show.

The former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress shared a picture of herself kissing her beau as she spoke about how grateful she was to have been given the opportunity to perform with Gorka.

“I’m not allowed to post our official dance pics in costume until the show has aired but I’m SO happy to have been given the chance to dance with Gorks on the Christmas Special,” she praised.

The ex soap star gushed over Gorka’s teaching skills, as she said she “loved” their dance together.

She said: “Seeing him ‘in work mode’ teaching me, doing the choreography and picking music and concepts was wonderful. What a fabulous dancer and teacher you are Gorks. I loved it!

“Tune in Christmas Day to see the show and all the fab dances! @gorka_marquez #strictlychristmas.”

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will air on December 25 at 4.40pm.
