Princess Beatrice has reportedly canceled her engagement party amid all the backlash over the Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Weeks after news broke that Prince Andrew was stepping down from his royal duties, the fallout is still impacting his family. The engagement party of Prince Beatrice and her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was scheduled to take place at Chiltern Firehouse in London on December 18th.
However, the 31-year-old decided to forgo the lavish bash over fears the paparazzi would swarm her father, and it would overtake the celebration. According to Daily Mail, a source close to the royal family shared Princess Beatrice, and her fiancé will instead hold a much smaller, more intimate gathering at a close friend’s London apartment.

“Bea has had to change the date of her engagement party at the Chiltern Firehouse because of fears there will be too many photographers outside looking for him Prince Andrew. But the venue choice caused alarm among pals concerned it was far too high-profile given the sensitive time her family is going through,” the insider shared with the British media outlet.
Neither Prince Andrew nor Princess Beatrice has commented on news her engagement party was canceled. Edoardo proposed to the princess last fall, while they vacationed together in Italy. The Palace formally announced Princess Beatrice’s engagement, sharing the wedding will take place sometime in 2020.

“It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstance relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organizations and charities that I am proud to support,” read part of his official statement.

A source close to Princess Eugene and Princess Beatrice told Us Weekly magazine the sisters are quite upset with their father. They are reportedly leaning on each other, as their father’s bad judgment in friends continues to wreak havoc on their lives.
Beatrice and Eugene are supporting their father during this time. However, they are still reeling from the impact Prince Andrew’s choices will forever have on their family.
