EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter in danger as alcohol addiction exposed in plot twist?

EastEnders viewers have found cause for concern over Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) as she has not been coping in recent weeks as her son Ollie’s (Harry Farr) behaviour has worsened since his diagnosis and husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) is suffering with anxiety. However, Linda could be in trouble if the rest of Walford discovers the truth.

Recent episodes saw the landlady arrested after she backed into one of the school mum’s cars and was caught in the act.

She faced humiliation as she was forced to take a breathalyser test at the school which came back positive.

The mum was carted off to the police station as friend Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) was there to pick her up and promised not to reveal the truth to Mick as long as she confessed what really happened.

Linda reluctantly had to admit her arrest to her husband who was there to support his wife through her ordeal.

However, what could happen if Linda’s addiction continues to worsen and becomes knowledge to the rest of Walford?

Mick does not yet seem to realise the full extent of her issues so far as they only look to worsen over the festive period.

As spoilers have indicated Mick is going to become aware that her drinking is a cause for concern, he will try to help his wife.

In scenes to air in upcoming episodes, he will take his wife out for the day away from the troubles of Walford but will be left frustrated as she reaches for the bottle as the arrive back.

Last week saw the Queen Vic’s wife swap event see Linda and Mick swap with Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton).

Linda opened up to Max about her struggles as the pair knocked back wine together.

Max voiced his concerns to Mick as he spoke about his wife after he revealed the amount of alcohol she got through as Linda passed out on the Brannings sofa as he is beginning to realise that something is up with her.

However, will the rest of Walford become aware of the mum’s problem as it worsens and land her in more trouble?

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk Kiran Beeharry partner in the family law team of SA Law explained what could happen to Linda if the situation was real life.

She continued to explain how if Linda’s problems continue how she could lose contact with her young son.

“At one end of the spectrum there could be recommendations for no contact or supervised contact and at the other there could be unsupervised contact if Linda gave promises not to consume alcohol in the build up to contact,” Kiran added.

Linda has so far managed to hide her issue from most of the Square but what could happen if it becomes more obvious to those around her?

Will Linda find herself in danger if her problem finds her health at stake and she becomes a risk to her young son?

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 8pm on BBC One.
