Julia Stiles Fondly Recalls Working With Heath Ledger

Julia Stiles starred with the late Heath Ledger in the 90’s cult classic 10 Things I Hate About You. The actress recently opened up about working with the actor, even recalling one of her favorite days on set with him.

On Friday, Stiles appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where a fan called in to ask her to describe her favorite day working on any movie set.

The answer just so happened to involve a day she spent with Ledger on the 90’s flick. It was the day Aussie actor had to perform Frankie Valli and the Four Season’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.’

“My favorite memory of that day, the whole day, he was just phenomenal. I mean, like, running up and down those stadium steps and nobody knew that he had this amazing voice. He just went full out and I got to watch it,” she happily shared with host Andy Cohen.

As for the long-standing rumors that it was Stiles who suggested Ledger sing the famous song during the now-iconic scene, well she answered that too.

“No, it was definitely not my idea. I wish…I’ll take credit for it,” the Hustlers star revealed, after first jokingly admitting it was all her brilliant idea.

Stiles and Ledger became one of the most beloved on-screen couples in the 1999 movie, which was a breakout role for both them. Their chemistry was off the charts. Today, 10 Things I Hate About You is still as popular as ever, finding new audiences 20 years after it hit theaters.

The late actor, who tragically passed away in 2008 from a drug overdose, is not the only famous costar Stiles dished about.

Fans will recall she worked with Scandal’s Kerry Washington in the 2001 flick, Save The Last Dance. The actress revealed even back then she knew Washington was destined for stardom and Hollywood success. It was Washington’s first major movie role, but Stiles knew she had something special.

It has been two decades since Julia Stiles appeared in the romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, with Heath Ledger. However, she fondly remembers their time on set as if it was yesterday. She even admitted one of her favorite days on set ever, was a day she spent filming with Ledger.
