Discord is down tonight, with thousands of reports coming in of server issues.
The Discord support team has revealed that problems with receiving and sending messages are tied to another service.
According to Discord, tonight’s issues cannot be resolved until problems over on the Google platform are solved.
A message from Discord explains: “Oh gosh~! We’re seeing some issues with messages sending & failure to connect due to an issue with Google compute platform & are waiting for a resolution!! Sorry for the inconvenience.
“Unfortunately there is a known issue affecting the timestamp for countries which do not observe DST. We’re aware of the problem and hope to push out a fix for it in a future update. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime!”
The latest server update confirms that Discord is still waiting for a fix, adding: “Discord is still experiencing major downtime related to Google’s ongoing issues in GCP.
“We have the team online and are ready to restore service as soon as the root issue is resolved. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.
There are currently thousands of reports on Down Detector sites confirming that tonight’s issues are still unresolved.
There is no ETA on when Discord services will be back online but it appears to be directly tied to tonight’s Google problems.
The good news is that when this has been cleared up, the Discord support team should be able to restore services in a timely fashion.
