Australia fires: Latest warnings, evacuation orders as six dead & homes of homes destroyed

NEW SOUTH WALES

New South Wales (NSW) is the scene of 100 fires, with six people already dead and more than 680 homes destroyed by the bushfires.

Eight of the raging fires are under emergency warnings, meaning they pose an immediate risk to lives and property.

The largest fire – dubbed a “mega blazes” – was created when five blazes joined up just north of Sydney, burning more than 335,000 hectares already.

The NSW premier Gladys Berejikilian said: “Previously the fires were pretty much confined to the northern part of New South Wales but what we have seen this week is our resources stretched across the entire coastline.

“We have also seen the fires coming in very close proximity to major population centres, whether it is on the south coast, central coast, or even greater western Sydney.
