Resident Evil 3 Remake blow as hoped Nemesis announcement date is dashed

The Resident Evil 3 Remake project was proved real earlier this week, following substantial leaks surrounding the game. This included new game art appearing online, showcasing updated characters designs Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira. Nemesis is also featured and shows an antagonist that just can’t wait to sink his teeth into a new challenge.

And now fans are waiting to hear more about the game from official channels.

This new Resident Evil 3 Remake leak was reportedly sourced from the PlayStation Store and doesn’t much else in details.

We don’t how much Resi 3 will cost when it arrives and we can’t be sure what platforms it will arrive on.

There’s a good chance it will appear on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2020 but until we hear more, it’s hard to guess.

There are hopes that Capcom will showcase the Resident Evil 3 Remake at the upcoming Jump Festa 2020 in Chiba this December.

The Resident Evil makers are scheduled to showcase an unannounced game at the event, which is being held on December 21 to December 22.

But some gamers were hoping to hear more about it before then, perhaps during The Game Award 2019.

We already know that there will be plenty of announcements during the show, which has proven interesting in years past.

Not only do we find out which gamers have been best rated throughout the year but we also get news regarding new games and updates.

Fortnite and PUBG have featured alongside stuff for Zelda Breath of the Wild 2.

But this year, won’t be featuring anything from the Resident Evil franchise, meaning fans will have to wait a little longer.

The Game Awards are being held on December 12, 2019, and already has a list of games reveal in the bag.

That’s according to host Geoff Keighley, who recently answered questions about the upcoming event on Reddit.

And the bad news is that Keighley has ruled out any Resident Evil 3 Remake news during the show.

In a new post online, he told fans: “We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show — I think there are around 10 new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet.

“As always the Internet has a lot of really bad information out there about what you think is at the show…but it sure is fun to read.”

Keighley then confirmed the news regarding Resi 3, adding: “There are no plans (never were) to do anything with Resident Evil 3 at the show.

“A lot of these “leaks” are completely wrong. Nothing about our show has leaked as of this writing.”

Speaking about the future of TGA and expos like E3, Keighley revealed he was working on his own secret project.

“The show has changed in a lot of ways — as has the industry. When we started we were pretty focused on boxed products,” he revealed.

“Now the “ongoing” game space is a big part of what we do, and next week you’ll see some pretty incredible things happen in and around the show in that regard.

“In terms of where the show goes in the future, next week I’ll be announcing a big new concept that is the future of where I want to take not only The Game Awards but events like E3 too.

“It’s a project that’s going to take a few years to realize, but it’s one of my next big challenges to take on. It’s a brand new concept, and something I’m really passionate about. It’s going to involve all of you around the world. I can’t wait to share it.”
