James Haskell: I’m A Celebrity star unveils staggering weight loss in shock jungle snaps

James Haskell, 34, took to Instagram this morning to share a snap with fans following his I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! exit last night.

The Rugby Union star posted a picture of himself with a slice of pizza in one hand and a beer in the other as he thanked those who had voted for him on the show.

The shirtless snap showed off the sportsman’s dramatic weight loss after spending almost three weeks in the jungle living on a diet which mostly comprised of rice and beans.

The former rugby star normally consumes a whopping 4,000 calories a day to maintain his build.

James told his 413,000 Instagram followers: “Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me! Sadly I didn’t make the cut but I loved every second of my @imacelebrity experience!”

He went on to say: “The most important thing to me is the opinion and respect of my fellow camp mates, with whom I have lived for the last 17 days. I was truly touched and humbled by their reactions this morning in camp.”

During an exit interview with Ant and Dec, which aired on ITV last night, James said he was feeling emotional after seeing the reaction of his campmates to the news his departure.

He said: “You know what, I got quite emotional. Caitlyn had tears in her eyes. Jacqueline started crying, Ian had tears in his eyes, and I thought ‘there’s no way I’m going to well up here’, and I did. I discovered a deep dark set of emotions.”

James was the fourth contestant to leave the reality show yesterday, following in the footsteps of Adele Roberts, 40, Andrew Maxwell, 45, and Cliff Parisi, 59.

In today’s social media post he also thanked his former campmates for their support following his eviction.

He wrote: “Also cannot thank @andrewismaxwell, @adeleroberts and @cliffparisi enough for their amazingly kind and generous words to me today.

James signed off: “Here’s to another slice [pizza] and [beer], and on to the next adventure.”
