Donald Trump health latest: American president’s health revealed after physical exam

Donald Trump, 73, is the oldest person to be sworn in for his first term as president and his state of health has attracted much attention since then. He was reportedly “rushed” to hospital with an unscheduled medical test which sparked fears regarding his current health back in November.

In a statement, White House Press Secretary, Stephanie Grisham, said the latest tests were prompted by a “free weekend” in the president’s diary and that Mr Trump remained healthy and energetic without complaints.

She tweeted: “Further speculation beyond the extensive and honest information I put out is wholly irresponsible and dangerous for the country.

“Donald has visited the Walter Reed Medical Centre nine times since taking office.”

No set template is in place for the president’s physical examination but his last two visits were both announced ahead of time and noted in his public diary.

During Mr Trump’s campaign he produced a letter that said he would the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.

However the doctor named as its author later said that Mr Trump had, in fact, written the letter himself.

Mr Trump had said himself that he is in “very good” health after completing “phase one” of his physical examination.

His physician added: “Despite some of the speculation, the president has not had any chest pain, nor was he evaluated or treated for any urgent or acute issues.

“Primary preventative medical care is something that occurs continuously throughout the year, it is not just a single annual event.”
