Chelsea ‘confident’ of completing Jadon Sancho transfer over Manchester United

Chelsea are reportedly confident of beating Manchester United to the signing of Jadon Sancho. Sancho is understood to be keen on leaving Dortmund after a series of bust-ups with chiefs. Despite continuing to deliver on the pitch, off the field Sancho has been punished for disciplinary issues.

Those problems have amplified the interest from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Chelsea are expected to learn imminently from the Court of Arbitration for Sport about their appeal against their transfer ban.

If they are successful, it would allow them to make a move for players in the January transfer window.

And according to Goal, Sancho is high among their targets.

The report says Chelsea believe they can make the England international the most expensive signing in their history.

Dortmund are also said to be looking at two players in Brazil to replace Sancho.

Earlier this week, ex-United defender Paul Parker said his old club should not be looking at Sancho.

“I’m not sure what’s happened with Sancho at Dortmund,” he said.

“I think it’s a massive gamble, particularly as I don’t think United even need a wide player, not unless they’re going to contribute 15-20 goals a season.”

Speaking on Tuesday, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp played down reports linking Sancho with a move to Anfield.

“He’s a very good player,” Klopp said.

“I have no clue where these kind of things [the rumours] are coming from, but it cannot come from us because we never speak about it.

“If we would be involved, nobody would know about it apart from a person who wouldn’t speak about it. There’s nothing to say. I know how it sounds, but I cannot change that. There’s nothing to say about it, which can mean there’s absolutely nothing to say about it.”
