Kate Beckinsale Responds To Troll Who Called Her ‘Too Old’ To Wear A Two-Piece Bathing Suit

Kate Beckinsale has recently been documenting her vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Instagram, and most of the pics feature the 46-year-old actress in a bikini. While most of her fans flooded the comments section with positive messages – Paris Hilton even chimed in and wrote “That’s hot” – there were a few trolls that slammed the actress for posting the images.

In the first pic Beckinsale posted, she was wearing a black bikini with high-waist briefs. One troll wrote, “Shes too old…looking for attention hahahaa!!” and another claimed Beckinsale was wearing “granny panties.”

The Underworld star decided to write a lengthy response to her haters, and she told them that she can’t imagine how unhappy they must be to leave such negative comments.

“Are you aware that when you get the urge to accuse someone of something, especially someone you don’t know, or attribute an intention without ever having met the person, that the only thing really being achieved is revealing something about yourself or something you fear about yourself?” wrote Beckinsale.

She went on to say that she doesn’t know the person who calls themselves “maria9714jones,” and she doesn’t know who it is that made them feel that if they get older they have no value, can’t be attractive or sexy, or have a relationship with your body that isn’t self-loathing. But, from one female to another, she told the troll not to let the noise bother her.

Beckinsale said that if the troll would cancel out the noise, they would feel more powerful, might physically blossom, know who they are and what they want, and get good at setting healthy boundaries.

Beckinsale explained to the woman that if she is young and afraid to get older, she shouldn’t be. Aging allows you to come into your own power in a way that feels steady, and more things will feel possible.

“The people or press that are scaring you that your value is tied up in youth, or in fact anything that is not currently within your reach, is noise I do hope you allow yourself to ignore,” wrote Beckinsale.

The actress wrapped up her comment by sending love and hoped that the troll received the message in the spirit it was meant. Beckinsale said she knows the troll has more to offer than leaving mean comments that illuminate far more about them than they do about the people they are commenting on.

As for the troll who asked about when granny panties came back into style, Kate Beckinsale replied, “Today.”
