Karim Zeroual: Strictly pro speaks out on star’s ‘outrageous’ move with Amy Dowden

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 star Karim Zeroual, 26, and Amy Dowden, 28, became the first dancing duo to receive 40 points from the four judges. Tonight, former pro Natalie Lowe, who is pregnant, said she was left in tears after their Jive.

Speaking to host Rylan Clark-Neal, she said: “I would’ve got my 10 paddle out, it was absolutely outrageous!

“I was crying the whole way through, shouting Yes, Yes, Yes!”

Rylan then joked her tears may be due to her hormones, to which she said she has been crying at “anything”.

She went on to praise the CBBC star for his efforts as she added: “He’s a true pro, you could not see who the celebrity was in this routine.

“He had everything, showmanship, light and shade, protracting legs, the content was amazing and the stylisation and just the little things between all of the moves.

“I was like, I loved it!”

She added: “Craig has been quite hard on him through the weeks but I think that was maybe a good thing because this has really just made him shine.

The presenter is in the run-in to win the Glitterball trophy alongside Kelvin Fletcher, Emma Barton and Chris Ramsey.

Earlier on in the competition, Karim ruled out a romance between the pair after he was queried about their close bond.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: “Oh no – there’s nothing going on between me and Amy. I have a girlfriend.

“But Amy and I are really good mates – a bit too good.

“We tease each other constantly, and it goes a bit far, and she nags me a bit – but look, it is all out of love.”

Amy is engaged to her fellow professional dancer Benjamin Jones.

Karim has been dating student Poppy Birtwistle for three years.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
