How Man Utd could line up if Ed Woodward signs Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top transfer targets

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping Ed Woodward can seal transfers for Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho and Declan Rice. With the Red Devils stuck in a rut, the January transfer window represents their best chance of salvaging their season.

According to Goal, Manchester United would love to secure the signatures of Haaland, Sancho and Rice from Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and West Ham in the upcoming transfer window.

Solskaer’s side have suffered this season, winning just four of their first 14 Premier League matches to sit just six points above the relegation zone.

Sancho and Rice were both eyed by United during the summer but ended up staying put at Borussia Dortmund and West Ham respectively.

Haaland, meanwhile, played under Solskjaer at Molde and, with 27 goals this season, is on his compatriot’s radar.

Express Sport now looks at how United could line up with the trio in their side.

Declan Rice

United have been sorely lacking in midfield this season. And that’s putting it mildly.

With Paul Pogba out injured, the likes of Fred and Andreas Pereira have been given chances to impress. Neither can say they’ve truly done that, though.

When everybody’s fit, Solskjaer would likely have Pogba and Scott McTominay in his side.

And there would be room for Rice, too, with the England international able to play further back.

That would allow Pogba and McTominay to both utilise their attacking skills instead, allowing Rice to focus on the defensive duties.

Erling Haaland

While Martial is popular among United fans, there can be no denying the France international isn’t consistent enough.

And that, perhaps, is why Solskjaer is hoping to land Haaland.

The Salzburg star has 27 goals already this season and is attracting interest from just about every top team in the planet.

Should he sign, he’d likely waltz straight into the team as United’s No 1 striker.
