Homes Under The Hammer's Martin Roberts reveals odd scratches and shares backstage theory

Martin Roberts, 56, took to Twitter and revealed his cameraman Tom “had lost the plot” after they found bizarre six foot high scratches on the wall. The Homes Under The Hammer presenter’s colleague blamed the marks on an “overambitious feline” but he dismissed the claims.

In view of his 23,200 followers, the property expert uploaded a video alongside cameraman Tom, where he admitted the latter’s “reputation is at stake” because he does not believe a cat could cause that much damage at an unreachable height.

In the clip, Martin mused: “We’re in this house in the West Midlands and this is Tom our cameraman.

“Now there’s something specific we’ve discovered which is in this corridor here, it’s this up here,” as he pointed to scratches on the wall, which showed tears through the wallpaper.

Speaking to Tom, he continued: “To my thousands of lovely followers, please explain what you think that is.”

While a third person added: “Definitely a cat – we had to stop our Missy playing Spider-Cat on several occasions (thankfully she has since lost interest).”

Martin later added a Twitter poll where the majority voted in Tom’s favour.

The BBC favourite captioned the poll: “Was Tom right? Was it a cat?” to which 48 per cent disagreed it was a feline while 58 per cent sided with Tom.

But it seemingly appeared Martin was not happy with the results as he further tweeted about the mystery scratches.
