Zlatan Ibrahimovic rejects Premier League return and is set to complete AC Milan transfer

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has agreed a deal with AC Milan and therefore won’t be returning to the Premier League. Ibrahimovic was linked with a comeback at Manchester United as well as a move to Tottenham but he will ultimately be going to the Serie A where he spent seven years of his illustrious career.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the former Sweden international has shaken hands in principle with Milan where he spent two seasons upon joining on loan from Barcelona in 2010.

The 38-year-old was linked with a return to United to solve their goalscoring crisis as he netted a total of 29 goals in 53 appearances during his two-year stint at Old Trafford and also won the EFL Cup as well as the Europa League.

But the club is opting for the likes of Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic and Red Bull Salzburg revelation Erling Braut Haaland.

Reports suggested that new Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wanted to bring the Swede with him to north London after their time together at Inter Milan and the Red Devils but the Portuguese manager insisted that he never had such plans.

Ibrahimovic has been a free agent after his two-season stint at the MLS with LA Galaxy where he scored a staggering 53 goals in 58 appearances.

The former Ajax star will be returning to Italy where he also donned the colours of Juventus as well as Inter.
