Jamie Carragher explains why Brendan Rodgers may consider Arsenal job amid Leicester fears

Jamie Carragher has had his say on whether Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers should jump ship for Arsenal, with his former manager closely linked with the job at the Emirates Stadium following the sacking of Unai Emery.

The Northern Irishman is one of several contenders for the job having guided Leicester into second place in style.

And after Rodgers oversaw another win for the Foxes today against Everton, Carragher was asked about what the former Liverpool boss may think about potential moving to Arsenal.

“I think the position he is in, there is no doubt you want to get right to the top,” he told Sky Sports.

“Leicester are second now but they aren’t one of the top clubs in the league.

“I don’t think it is right if he is even thinking about moving to Arsenal right now.

Luckily for Leicester, Rodgers is not the only boss on Arsenal’s shortlist.

Freddie Ljungberg has been given the chance to takeover as caretaker boss while a replacement is sounded out.

Other candidates include Massimiliano Allegri, Mikel Arteta, Carlo Ancelotti and potentially Maurico Pochettino.

Life after Emery did not get off to the best start for Arsenal, as they were held 2-2 at Norwich after coming from behind twice.
