Kelvin Fletcher: Strictly's Oti Mabuse 'furious' over actor's wedding anniversary choice

Strictly star Kelvin Fletcher reportedly skipped the big celebration in order to rehearse with Oti – to her alleged annoyance. A report in The Sun says that the Strictly pro is concerned how this will go down with viewers.

Kelvin stayed in London over his anniversary to perfect his Beauty and the Beast themed American Smooth routine with Oti for Musicals Week.

The report says that Oti was concerned that by him skipping the anniversary celebrations, this would spark “curse” rumours.

This also comes after pictures of Oti and Kelvin hugging emerged in the press.

The source said: “All the celebrities were encouraged to be in London this week as that’s where the backing dancers are based.

“Oti knew it was Kelvin and Liz’s anniversary and was happy for him to go to Manchester, but he didn’t want to.

“He takes the show very seriously and didn’t want them to be behind the curve.

“However, Oti was worried his decision may be seen as a reflection on the state of his marriage and the rumour mill would start up.

“She hates the idea people could whisper about them being struck by the Strictly curse. She had a bit of a meltdown about it.”

This was accompanied my multiple photos, including Kelvin teary eyed on their wedding day and Liz with their children, daughter Marnie and son Milo.

Kelvin and Oti, who are one of the bookies top couples to win this year’s Strictly series, did extremely well with their Disney themed performance.

They scored a very impressive 39 or 40 points while Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden scored a perfect 40.

The rehearsal process seemed particularly gruelling for their elaborate performance.

A week prior the former Emmerdale actor posted a picture of his muscular legs covered in painful looking red bruises.

He captioned the surprising snap with: “Rugby? No. No.

Dancing? Yes. #didimentionimbruised? #soft #getoveritkelvin #strictly.”

Oti jibed at his response and told him to “get dressed”.

She replied: “Don’t be a queen about it… get dressed and let’s go dance.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Sunday at 7:20pm on BBC One.
