Carol Vorderman, 58, gushed about her youngest child Cameron King, 22, as she opened up about a heartwarming mother and son moment they shared last night. The Countdown legend shared the story with her 419,000 Twitter followers as she explained Cameron promised to look after her after she spent two weeks working away from home.
Carol wrote: “Last night, my son drove an hour to pick me up VERY LATE from a party, and when we got in the car he said ‘Mum, you’ve been working away for two weeks & you’re tired so I’ve put a playlist together of things you like.
“‘Sit back, have a snooze if you want, I’ll look after you.’”
The TV personality added two red love heart emojis to her tweet to show her appreciation for the sweet gesture.
However, Carol was forced to hit back after a troll claimed she was a “liar” in response to the tweet.

Revealing further details about their car journey, Carol replied: “He’s kind… and he just told me that when I was sleeping (exhausted from work and travelling) on the way home, he went extra carefully round corners and roundabouts so he didn’t wake me up.”
Another fan recalled meeting Carol and her son, writing: “I remember meeting you and your son when I was on foot patrols as a new police officer along Lambeth Palace Road about 15 years ago.
“He was a nice lad then and always said hello to us. Nice to see he hasn’t changed. Hope you are all well.”
“Awwww… thanks @freddiedaycare… we’re sending love… that was a long time ago huh? X,” Carol responded.
Carol’s moment with her son comes after she informed fans her daughter Katie King, 28, is currently researching a hydrophobic cancer drug.
The mathematics expert told MailOnline: “I am very proud of her, the hydrophobic cancer drug uses molecules that are allergic to water.
“So it doesn’t have to mix with the blood. It is hoped to alter how you deliver treatments in certain cancer patients.”
Katie and Cameron are Carol’s children from her second marriage to management consultant Patrick King.
