A widespread area of more than six inches of rainfall into midweek is expected, with the highest rainfall totals expected in southeastern Luzon.

Accuweather’s forecast said: “Regardless of exact intensity, significant impacts are likely across the northern Philippines from Monday night into Tuesday as the typhoon crosses the region.

“There is the potential for wind gusts in excess of 100mph that can lead to extensive damage and power outages.

“Flash flooding and an inundating coastal storm surge will be of concern as well near the storm’s path.”
