Savannah Guthrie Revealed She Wouldn’t Miss The Thanksgiving Parade Just For An Eye Injury

Savannah Guthrie managed to put on a great performance at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade earlier today, despite suffering an eye injury claims Entertainment Tonight. Even though she endured a setback, it wasn’t enough to stop her from doing her job today, Thursday, the 28th of November.

Savannah started her coverage of the yearly New York City parade alongside Hoda Kotb, her co-worker and co-host, and she appeared more concerned with the balloons than her own eye problems. On the broadcast, Kotb stated people had been asking Savannah how her eye was repeatedly.

Yesterday, Guthrie called into the Today show to explain that her 2-year-old son threw a toy train at her eye which ended up ripping her retina. Charles tossed a train at Guthrie’s face and it ended up nearly blinding her.

It happened this past week, however, it took a full 24 hours for her to realize the damage it had done. Guthrie noted that the injury ended up being quite “serious.” The star admitted the doctors were concerned that her retina had become “detached.”

Moreover, Guthrie admitted she has undergone several laser procedures that way she doesn’t have to get a full operation. It turns out that the incident was quite nasty, the co-host explained. She added there was so much blood in her eye that it was completely blocking her vision.

Even though she suffered an injury, things have been going quite well on her end, especially with her kids. Closer Weekly reported on the 1st of June that Savannah was very busy with not only her career but also her two children with husband, Michael Feldman.

Fans of the television show host know that the 47-year-old has been working with NBC for seven years, so they’ve managed to get a feel for her personal life as the years have gone by.
